dpi

Abbreviation for dots per inch
This is a unit of resolution.

This refers to the output resolution of scanners and printers and indicates how many pixels there are per inch (25.4 mm). The higher the resolution, the more accurate the image. Data capacity is determined by the number of pixels, and therefore the capacity is proportional to the square of the resolution.
For this reason, if a higher resolution than necessary is used when reading data with a scanner, it may increase operating costs and cause obstacles. Therefore, it is necessary to make appropriate settings according to the purpose of the document and the size of the characters contained in the manuscript.
