electro-magnetic record(s)
Provisions within each law and regulation.
Records made by electronic, magnetic, or other methods that cannot be recognized by human perception, and are electronic data recorded and stored on media used for information processing by computers.
In Article 231 of the Code of Civil Procedure, audiotapes and videotapes are exemplified as objects equivalent to documents, and electronic data recorded on magnetic tapes, hard disks, etc. are not included in these examples; however, the Act on Electronic Signatures and Certification Business was enacted in 2000, and therefore electronic data is now also considered as an object equivalent to documents.
