scanner preservation
To convert a written document into an image using a scanner and storing it electronically.
Scanner preservation is common; however, it attracted attention because when legally preserved documents were permitted to be stored as electronic data under the E-Document Act, it was stipulated that scanner preservation shall also be included, and scanner preservation was also permitted under the Electronic Book Preservation Act.
As for scanner preservation, there are generally no regulations regarding the methods; however, under the Electronic Book Preservation Act, strict requirements are specified, including image resolution and time stamping of captured data.
